Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

Medigap plans are designed to "cover the gap" between services costs and Original Medicare coverage. Same letter plans are standarized and the difference between insurance carriers would be the premium and extras, added value benefits embedded into each plan, like discounts for non-covered services (dental, vision, prescriptions).

These plans do not include prescription drug coverage and it's strongly recommended that enrollee also adds a prescription drug plan to cover their needs and avoid a lifetime penalty fee for a part D late enrollment.
